Regional Food System Planning

A decision-making tool to help councils turn food system strategy into practical action.

This pathway tool was developed to support councils to integrate food system planning into their existing projects and work programmes.

It provides a clear line of sight between current activities and the long-term vision set out in the Regional Food System Plan.

Looking at the System Through a Food Lens

Rather than creating new standalone initiatives, the tool shows how food security, local food supply, and food infrastructure can be embedded into the work councils are already doing.

Illustrated pathways help councils apply a food lens to existing work streams, showing where food system outcomes could be strengthened.

This makes it easier to recognise connections between projects and understand how everyday decisions contribute to regional resilience.

I like the large cup. It says “you have time”, and has a warm generous vibe
