Te Tiriti Journey
Visualised

Working with June Nicklin and the team at Massey University, I helped visualise the institution's journey towards a genuine Te Tiriti partnership. Starting from raw timeline material, we worked together to find a visual language grounded in Te Ao Māori - moving away from a linear timeline towards something that felt more like an ecosystem. The result is a piece that holds both history and whakapapa.

CLIENT FEEDBACK:

“E mihi kau ana ki a koe Yasmine, koutou ko te rōpū League of Live Illustrators. Working with your team was an insightful experience. You created a timeline illustration that is not only visually stunning but also deeply reflects the significance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its developments within SaGE at Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa Massey University.

The process was collaborative and respectful, aligning beautifully with our Mātāpono Māori. Together, we explored the idea of an ecosystem rather than a linear timeline to emphasise a Māori worldview. Your ability to listen, honour our kaupapa, and translate complex history into a compelling visual narrative was exceptional. This piece is more than artwork, it is a taonga that helps us share our story in a way that is both meaningful and accessible. We are truly grateful for your mahi and highly recommend you to anyone seeking Te Tiriti-grounded visual storytelling.”

If you have an idea you'd like to explore, I'd love to hear about it.
