The Getting Around Survey

Research Results that
Reach People

Working with social scientists, we turned transport survey findings for social housing residents into illustrated resources designed to be understood across different literacy levels and language backgrounds. Grounding the data in its real-life context, with characters and a bit of humour, makes the numbers mean something to the people they're about.

Survey Results:

Getting Around Survey 2025

For the 2025 Survey the results were visualised as a bright and lively comic. Filled with interesting characters going about their daily life.

Getting Around Survey 2022

2022 we visualised two survey results, one for older residents of the city and one for a specific social housing development. The results were designed as a poster that folded down into a pamphlet.

The survey for older residents is shown here.

Getting Around Survey 2021

This was the first year that I worked on this project, and developed the concept and visual language for the research. Turning roads and buildings into visual devices to translate data into images fit for the context.

Illustrated Ethics Form

The consent process got the same treatment as the research itself, an illustrated ethics form designed to make the consent process clear and accessible for all participants.

If you have an idea you'd like to explore, I'd love to hear about it.
